Automated facts versus editorial claims

Every six hours, the synchronization job requests the official Steam app record, official Community Announcements and the public current-player endpoint. It validates all three responses, requires a known patch baseline and writes one JSON document atomically. A failed or partial response never replaces the last good file.

Mechanic claims—where an item appears, what a boss drops, whether a hand-in unlocks an island—are not blindly changed by that job. Those need a reproducible gameplay check or an explicit developer note.

Media provenance

Gameplay screenshots, store capsule artwork and trailer thumbnails in /images/steam/ are local delivery copies of the official Steam store assets. The illustrated five-island hero is an original site asset generated for this guide. Neither source implies developer endorsement.

Count conventions

The creature directory uses “54 extracted creatures” because it includes fish, shell creatures, ground pickups, special creatures and encounter assets. The in-game Collector checklist may present a narrower total. We label categories and boss entries so those two ideas are never silently mixed.

Corrections

When a patch contradicts a guide, the patch source wins. The page gets a new visible verification date only after the relevant statement changes; routine builds do not manufacture freshness dates.
